On the 7th January, we have a habit of eating “Nanakusa-Gayu” rice porridge with seven spring leaves.

In January I miss the green and birth of vegetables, but I have to be patient for a few month more until of arrival of spring.
On the day of 7th January, in our country we have a habit to eat “Nanakusa Gayu” rice porridge with seven spring leaves.

・Haru-no-Nanakusa
is seven spring leaves that tell us arrival of spring. 春の七草(はるのななくさ)   *We have Aki-no-Nanakusa of autumn, that is not eaten only for viewing.
・Nanakusa-Gayu
is rice porridge with “Nanakusa” of spring. 七草粥(ななくさがゆ)
