Wasabina Ohitashi Salad

We have a variety of mustard greens. This is one of them, called “Wasabina”.

Wasabina is originated in Karashina of Kyusyu area and it was domesticated the plant.  Now it’s cultivated in many regions of Japan.

The pungent taste of radishes are caused by Allyl isothiocyanate, and in the cold temperature the pungent taste will be stronger.

Ohitashi means soy sauce and broth based dressing salad, used boiled greens lightly.
