Grilled Salmon with “Wakame” Seaweed & Fennel

Wakame’s Umami is complement the grilled salmon.

Salmon is one of my favorite fishes.

Salt, pepper and dried herbs.  Parsley, basil, leek, dill, oregano, tarragon, chervil and peppermint.

Place salmon on the top of Wakame seaweed, and cover it with fennel. Even more put some tomatoes.

Wakame and tomato contain lots of Umami, glutamic acid.   It’s a collaboration between herbs flavor and Umami.

is a salmon.  鮭(さけ) literally uncertain, there are some story in its origin.
・Wakame
is a sea vegetable (edible seaweed), Sea-farmers have grown wakame in Japan from the Nara period. 若布(わかめ) “young cloth”
