“Iidako” Octopus Ocellatus with Miso Mustard Sauce

Observation of Octopus ocellatus, eyes, mouth, hands…

This small octopus is Octopus ocellatus.  The Japanese name is “Iidako (飯蛸)” literally “cooked rice octopus” because the roes packed in the body is similar to cooked rice.

It is not a nose, but a siphon (funnel) for egestion and spit ink
