“Yurine” is cozy vegetable, I love this.

Today’s lunch is spaghetti with “Yurine” and leftovers (shimeji, canned tuna, tomato, onion, parsley).

"Yurine" & Shimeji Mushroom Spaghetti

“Yurine” is a edible lily bulbs, written “百合根” in Kanji literally “hundred overlap root”, and “百合” also means lily.

 

There are three species as edible lily bulbs in Japan.

– Lilium lancifolium  :  Oni-Yuri       鬼百合 “demon lily”
– Lilium leichtlinii     :  Ko-Oni-Yuri 小鬼百合 “small demon lily”
– Lilium auratum      :   Yama-Yuri   山百合 “mountain lily”

Mainstream of edible cultivation is Lilium leichtlinii.

  1. Saute onion, canned tuna, shimeji in olive oil and garlic.
  2. Add tomato and vegetable soup, and season with salt, pepper, wine, and vinegar and soy sauce as a hidden flavor.
  3. Put “Yuri-Ne” (cooked soon).
  4. Mix boiled spaghetti with sauce in fry pan.
